Manually link related assets to reflect parent-child relationships

Users want to manually connect assets that belong together — such as a source file and the images used within it — so that their relationship is visible and navigable within the system. Problem / Pain: Assets that belong together — for example, a design file and the images it references or contains — cannot currently be linked manually in the system. There is no way to define a relationship between assets that do not share a physical or automated derivation. As a result, users lose the ability to understand and navigate these connections, and related files appear as isolated objects with no visible context between them. Impact / Benefit: The ability to manually create parent-child relationships between assets would make it easier to understand how files relate to each other, navigate between connected assets, and maintain a clearer overview of complex asset structures. It would also reduce the risk of assets being used, moved, or deleted without awareness of their dependencies. Example use case: A content creator uploads a Photoshop document alongside the individual images used within it. By manually linking the images to the source file, the relationship becomes visible in the asset view — making it easier for colleagues to understand the full context and find all related files in one place.
