Carry over metadata automatically when creating a new asset version
Users want metadata from an existing asset version to be available when uploading a new version, so they do not have to re-enter the same information manually every time a new version is created. Problem / Pain: When a new version of an asset is created, existing metadata is not carried over. Users have to re-enter the same information manually for each new version, even when the metadata has not changed. This adds repetitive work and increases the risk of inconsistencies between versions. Impact / Benefit: Automatically carrying over metadata when creating a new version would save time, reduce manual effort, and help keep information consistent across versions. Users could focus on what actually changed rather than repeating data entry that adds no value. Example use case: A content creator uploads a revised version of a product image. The keywords, categories, and copyright information are identical to the previous version. Instead of entering all of this again from scratch, the metadata is carried over automatically and the creator only adjusts what has actually changed.
